A Beginning
Well hello there. Welcome to this sparkling new Washington Redskins-oriented blog.
You might be thinking, why start a Redskins blog? Aren't there enough blogs out there as it is? What can you possibly offer me for five minutes of my time? Are you just doing it for the fame, fortune, and women? Well, those are some good questions.
The national media these days regurgitates the same information over and over again, repeating the same nonsense from other sources and doing very little actual research themselves. These people simply can't cover every Redskins game because they have 31 other teams to report on and this team just can't compete with the Patriots and Cowboys for their undying affections. Therefore, whether you're reading ESPN or CBS or SI, you will more than likely read the same opinion on Redskins-related manners (i.e. the team has no defensive line, Dan Snyder is the devil, etc. etc.)
The fact of the matter is that we here feel that we are more qualified to offer our opinion on such Redskins-related manners than a Len Pasquarelli-type figure, simply because we actually watch every snap. We fans are better informed than the national media "experts" who try to tell us what to think. This blog features the opinion of such a Redskins fan. Here at Burgundy Glasses, we will offer you this: analysis and opinion ranging from day-to-day Redskins operations and happenings, incorporating game previews, post-game reactions, player and opposition assessment, and breakdown and summary of news stories.
We'd just like to add that we are aware that there are a number of superb Redskin bloggers who have been doing this for far longer than we have, but we hope that we can add a unique element to this blogosphere. So for those that are legitimately interested in Redskins analysis, we hope that you enjoy your stay here and check back regularly for updates.
